The management committee are also looking for volunteers to set up two sub-committees.
One of the sub-committees will lead on supporting our members with funeral arrangements and explore how CMA can support our members with the rising costs of funerals.
The second sub-committee will be responsible for organising and co-ordinating catering arrangements for events at our community hall.

Workshops to Inspire
Join us for our upcoming workshops, where individuals of all ages can learn new skills and share knowledge and experience. Our workshops range from cooking sessions that celebrate our rich culinary heritage to learning how to perform ghusl for the deceased. These interactive sessions are led by experienced volunteers who are eager to share their expertise and passion to hand their skills down to our new generations.

Funeral Announcements

🕊️ Funeral Announcements & Duas
This section is dedicated to sharing funeral announcements within the Muslim Cutchi community globally.
If a loved one from our community has passed away, please contact us so we may share the announcement and invite members to unite in dua. Together, we ask Allah (SWT) to shower mercy upon the departed, grant them the highest rank in Jannat al-Firdhaus, and bestow sabr (patience) upon their families.

Health & Wellbeing Activities
Ladies-only Badminton sessions at Audley Community Sports Centre, Chester Street, Blackburn BB1 1DW. These sessions will start in September 2025.
CMA Juniors Football Club for boys aged 5 to 12 years old at Witton Park, Pleasington Playing Fields.

Workshops to Inspire
Cultural & Religious workshops
Ghusl Training
We are in the process of organising workshops on how to carry out ghusl for our deceased. The workshops will take place in Masjid-e-Raza, Randal Street, Blackburn, by an experienced Imam. This training is aimed at both our male and female members and has been scheduled for September 2025. Any members interested in participating can contact us.

In Islam volunteering for funeral services is highly encouraged and considered a meritorious act. Specifically assisting with the washing (ghusl), shrouding (kafan) and burial (janaza) of a deceased Muslim is seen as a communal obligation (fard kifaya) and a source of great reward.
